there's really no point in either sadly mate, most maps on the AGU engine take the ko3 turbo to within an inch of it's life anyway, I've even run one with the wastegate disconnected totally, and it still didn't boost any more!

I tried an N75J on my AGU, and it really made no difference at all.

I've heard that the N75 race valve from ECS is just a normal N75H valve.

The N75H (race) will most likely send your engine into limp mode. At least this is what happened with my AGU. It has a slower response to ECU messages than the stock valve and tends to overboost.

I recently purchased the N75J valve, mines remapped to. Yes was good noticeable better pickup nid rang but after two weeks mine finally limped. (while trying to overtake on a dually, my turbo went dead!!!) VAG-COM logged a sparadic boost or something... So ended up getting rid of it - couldn't risk it limping again if I was overtaking and no boost! Bear it in mind.

Those figures you quote are very low for what you should be getting, who mapped the car ? If there was a problem this should of been rectified before the map, I presume your maf is ok ?? You should be seeing in the 190bhp area...

if there's something wrong with the car, I'd suggest sorting that before trying to up the power in other ways!

136bhp is VERY low indeed, the n/a 20v engine makes 125 without the turbo, and they run the same compression ratio I believe, so your turbo is hardly adding anything!]

My AGU engine after 130 000 miles made 158bhp in standard form. All should still make standard power irrelavent of mileage really, as Audi were fairly conservative with the figures.

176 after the map isn't TOO bad, but again, it's a good 14bhp down on what's possible.

I'd suggest you get a VAG com scan on the go, and also check for all the obvious little things like boost leaks. When did the car last have a new airfilter and plugs?

iv had the car on vagcom type thing, the only prob was the temp sender i have changed that but it still comes up everytime, i need the stat to be changed this saturday,

at the time of remap the car had a k&n cone filter but now it has a k&n pannel filter, iv also changed the plugs after it was remaped maybe i should go for another rolling road.

my car has done 161k, what else could make me lose power

iv taken of the maf and it ran realy bad no boost atall so i think the maf is ok

i do not have a proper vagcom tho

Ok so this has been covered in brief before but just went to order a n75j valve (finaly) and saw the n75h at the side, had alook but theres not alot of info covering the n75h, my engines the apy so the n75j wont really affect it (limp mode) but would the n75h be better!

I must be one of the lucky ones, my agu isnt mapped but it runs fine with a n75j valve, doesn't exactly give me any more boost but it holds it for longer. Never had any limp mode either. Might be a different story when i get it mapped.

Prawn what max boost did you see when you unplugged the n75? I did one very short blast with it disconected from the wastegate and saw 1.2 bar, didnt give it full throttle though in fear of the mixture being far to weak.

would the car try to adjust the fueling to compensate for the amount of air going in?

It would but it could be to late, the ecu is knows the n75 is working but as its disconected from the wastegate your relying on the o2 sensor to pic up the lean mixture but at high revs i'm guessing the mixture would be that lean it could destroy the engine very quickly. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this tbh, i only did i for a couple of seconds to check my turbo was boosting correctly when I was having boost issues a few weeks ago.

The N75h superceedes the N75c valve and are both the same valve and are used as standard on these engines. The N75j is taken from an audi S2 five cylinder 20v turbo. The connections for the boost and purge are on opposite sides on the J valve, so when fitting the valve to a A3,S3 the valve should be fitted with the plug connection facing the opposite way than the standard valve. I have used one and found it whort while, it spikes higher holds boost longer and is smoother. I would buy the N75J valve ahead of the ECS valve, I think its also cheaper.

Well the J and H (ecs is the same as the H valve) are the same price.

well if the ECS is the same as the H valve I see little piont in using the ECS valve then as it wont be any different to the the standard H valve

Ah i see :icon_thumright:, i suppose that at some point the injectors would be flat out and couldn't supply any more fuel anyhow

Ive got one, been sitting in my garage for probably near on 2 years. Not sure I want to fit one due to the danger for going into limp mode or worse.
