N\S Power steering shacking a3 2.0tdi 06

Hi all

My Car has been shacking when accelerating and braking. i changed my discs a few months back.

I noticed it looked like the power steering had play on the passenger side but fine on the drivers side.

so i replaced the track rod but whilst doing it i saw the main shaft inside the rack had play and the track rod was fine. i replaced the rod anyway as i had it but the shack is still there, so looks like it is the steering rack. the rack doesn't creak and the steering is still good, but the car wobbles around :/

I just want to know has anyone else had this issue? do i need to replace the whole rack and why would it only be on one side :S

If its got play inside the rack, then chances are its a replacement rack needed.
