    Hi All

Just acquired a full car set of these original and perfect NOS Zender Monza Alloys - absolutely unused and unmarked, made in germany and TUV appd.:yahoo:

    18 x 8.5 et 35 and 112 x 5 pcd.

I loved these BITD (before Halfrauds et al copied them relentlessly) and they always remind me of my beloved Cup"2" Alloys on the 968 but with even more teutonic solidity.

Zender as you may know went belly up around 2008 so they're not available unless lost in a warehouse somewhere.

Hope you like 'em too - these are rarer than an albino penguin in a coal mine - and have a date of manufacture of Jan 2000!!!!

Now do I use these or my S4 Avus' for winter:undwech:

Hens teeth!! You gotta at least offer one of them up, even without tyres on just to satisfy yours, and my, curiosity of how they would look, seen them on a TT I think and looked realy good. Quality and simplicity. Good purchase.

I'm terrible at visualising, so will have to wait until they're on before I see whether I like them or not :D

Not keen, Rare doesnt always mean nice, if you like them, go for it :) Your opinion is all that matters on your car.

Agreed rare doesnt always mean nice, but they work in this case, suit the car very well and great to have something pretty unique as a bonus. Looking forward to more pics as well though! Good work.........

thanks for all the comments + and - TBH this is all about having a bit of fun with a relatively cheap bit of tin - i've done the new a3 quattro (in '02) the new discovery, the civic VTi (prevous type r in '92) and all.

Alloy wheels designs come from 3 original 'design' ideas to me, there's the:

"cartwheel", the large spoke, "minilite" (as above),

'bike / wire' wheel (and its progenitors) that evolved to the BBS CH or similar

and then there's the pressed steel (hole punched alloy) via "tractor" to 'Weller' (white on a 1275gt mini) which are; Type 90 porsche, Golf gti "P" wheel or the five arm and similar audi alloys (the a3 came out with combo steel/ alloys originally!)

So without this mini-treatise descending into "Emperor's new clothes" territories it's kind of important to figure what came from where and how each fits in the design context of the B6 Audi A4 (or any other car)
Or in other words I like big f-off spoked wheels on my Audi and that's it:o.k:

but seriously I like the zenders, they are chunky enough to carry the 'weight' of the B6, they take a design cue from the Porsche 'cup' wheels (RS2 for those who don't know WTF I'm chiming on about), are similar to the OEM style from Ingolstadt 90's on and well what the hell they cost me....

    £148 for all 4

    What's not to like?

better pics soon as the snow clears...

    And:thumbsup:

Suit your car just right, would also work with Votex kit but not sure it would look OK with S-line kit.

I'm not a fan they should be on a car from the same period. I.e a b5 or maybe even a s2, makes me think new car old wheels like sticking raw venoms on a b6, not that I don't like them, love them but on the right car

No problem and thanks for your thoughts, each to their own and all that, but they are of the period these were made in 2001! The same year the b6 came out. and they were still being made in 2008.

BBS CH's post-date B7's 'design' (even B8's) if one followed the same logic. Though I would quite happily have a set of those if some come up for £37 each:yes:

My 'winter set' of Avus alloys, were a constant from mid 90's thru to the end of b7 S4 production.

Our cars are all approaching 10 years old, mine is 11 but I'm having more fun tinkering with it than any car I've ever had and for (relatively) peanuts!

    cheers
    And

That's an intersting point about the votex - I had started down that path but kind of got bored / found some GMBH stuff.

I see mine as a poor man's S4 in goodwood green and the GMBH kit seems more s4 than the Votex. Although I like them both:salute:

Sorry didnt mean to come across funny' just was my opinion more than welcome to comment on my build thread. i do like the wheels just unsure on the b6 avant. They remind me slightly with been 5 spoke of my old wheels' i bought some rare RH 3.6 speedlines from a porsche 964. loved them to bits but when i put them on the a4 after they where on the leon what i got rid of' they just didnt work i felt was gutted

Paul - nothing meant or read into your post at all and yes I've seen what you've done with yours, it

I guess we all have a 'mind's eye' when it comes to these cars and mine dates from early 2000's S3 and S4.

And i reasoned they'd do for winter if nowt else:happy:

As a 968 owner I share your speedline grief! (std on the (and my) 968 turbo fantasy)

    cheers
