Been having a little bit of a crisis recently with the car. Unsure whether to break it for parts, and buy something else, just settle as it is, carry on ploughing cash into it... Then had the thought of making it a road legal racer to compete with Bill in the Combe saloons championship. I think this is the route I shall take.

After having a chat with TSR, about potential sponsorship, I walked out with a slightly lighter wallet, but a damned heavy package in the shape of this.

So mission is now on to get my Nat B licence, and get the car prepped during the winter if all goes well.

I am liking the LSD !

Also I note your boost curve is practically the same as my GTRS which makes me feel a little happier as I thought mine was laggy but am realising, from various sources, that this is normal. My rough plot is 0.7 bar at 3k, 1bar at 3.5k and 1.4+bar at 4k rpm.

Keep up the goo work :)

Yeh boost pressure is behind that of the k04, but air flow is near enough equal hence not really feeling 'slower'

I LOVE what I see! I have sooooo many questions. I can't figure out what to ask first. How much did it cost you to change those diff audi parts? an estimation WOULD be helpful :)

but, yea I gotta agree on this one though.

If you mean the Quaife? The diff was £660 including the bolts.

Now for some bad news :(
    Bearing failure :(

Went at full chat, plenty of oil drained out the turbo, so this rules out a feed issue.

Engine came out today, ready for the 'big' build. "if at first you don't suceed, buy a bigger turbo."

Plan is new valves, stonger valve train and a HX35, as its all top end boost wise, ideal for a race car.

    Thanks mate :)

Well started with a full interior this morning. By lunchtime I was left with this:

I then went to B+Q and bout 2 wall paper scrapers and a heat gun, and started removing the tar/sound deadening from the rear forwards. Then cracked on with grinding the seams ready for welding. A full afternoon of prepping and welding left me at the seam just infront of the fuel tank.

Paul removed it all from his M3 track car, put it in a carrier bag and weighed it. It was a good 4-5kgs! It looks much neater when it's out too.

I've got 5kg from what I've removed already. Heat gun and a wallpaper scraper and it almost falls off.

So Nipped down to TSR this morning and asked if I could be cheeky and borrow one of they're manifolds for a dry buildup to see what fitment issues I shall have, now, how many companies would let you walk out of there with a £1000rrp manifold with no payment atall?

Just aswell I'm quite friendly with them :)

Over to the garage and had a quick look at my engine, now the manifold they have is a t25, but i did discuss about getting a t3 flange put on.

I may even look and see if there is any way of making a tial v-band exh housing fit.

But here is the mock up, I'll be dropping it in the car on sunday at the earliest, got work coming out my ears on saturday, went from an LCR in for a leak test, and now have 2 172 cambelts, and a service on top!

Well... Today was judgement day whether I had bitten off more than I could chew turbo wise. Bill (as was I) was very sceptical about it fitting. Unfortunatly, at the current turbo flange angle of ther TSR Manifold made it impossible to fit :( But it was SO close. I wasn't giving up. So I took the grinder out.

    Only joking.
It was close but no cigar. So unclamped the turbo from the manifold and dropped the motor in. Then faffed about getting the turbo in(Lets hope I dont have to change this!!)

HAHA!! Result We are in and cleared! So knocked up 2 brackets to hold the turbo on, so I could get an Idea of what I was needing to do to get it to fit.

Here is a few pics of the clearence. Its very tight, but I can fit a spanner inbetween it.

All in all, very happy. Doesnt need much, but it fits :)
