hi as above ive checked the linkages and the only ont that looks sus is the little u shaped one at the back of the front wheel , would this cause any knocking , it also knocks when turning the steering wheel off on my drive.

Could be allsorts of things..
Bit of a stab in the dark but my exhaust mid-section worked loose today and the resultant drop of the front end of the pipe caused it to collide with the suspension arms at the front of the car, causing a loud knocking sound whenever I turned left.
Is your exhaust fitted completely snug and where it should be?

Could be the front ARB bushes or the top suspension arms. If you're changing the ARB bushes, then definitely change the drop-link component (the one you described)
