Thought I'd make a little thread for the car and the bits I do to her.

Bought this to replace my civic type r to save a bit of money on fuel/tax/insurance as I'm looking to buy my first house this year.

    So here she is:

Got a few plans for her already:
    • New alloys (18" S3's?)
    • Change wood trim interior (Carbon/aluminium wrap)
    • LED's all round (Interior and Exterior)
    • Headunit (Probably Alpine)
    • S3 Pedals
    • New A3 Mats
May be a silly question but I'm not sure if this is a 140bhp or a 170bhp version, could anyone help?

    Cheers :)

Look at the inside cover of the service book and it will give you the engine code.

    If it's BKD then it's a 140 !

Haha cheers lads, I guess that answers that question then!

It does say BKD in the manual.

Pretty sure mine has the light pack as well as there are literally lights all over the place :)

You do indeed have the light pack.

Turn your lights to auto. There is a little button by the dial you put on auto, press it and it lights up red.

That button is the follow me home lights, so yor lights stay on 45 secs once you've gotten out of your car :)

Yeah I thought so, nice little extra I've not had before.

Proper wood in a car can be lovely, i.e an old Jag. But the "wood" pictured just reminds me of horrendous late 80's Rovers.

I was just going to get some aluminium replacements but can't seem to find any on eBay and they'll probably be a bomb from audi directly. Has anyone else wrapped theirs? Was thinking about some aluminium or carbon wrap from 3M, not sure how difficult it would be though?

Yeah I agree, proper wood in a car ie a £250k car lol but then I'd feel bad cutting a tree in gongo down to make my inside look nice

Still rather not pay £120 or £170 plus postage for them though, think I'd rather wrap them myself! :)

If you'd had a late '80s Rover as a new car mate you probably might have thought it did not look horrendous.

    Mine was OK !! :p

Surprised you ended up with an Audi. Thought all the Rover drivers had moved onto Hondas. ;)

I've ordered some silver carbon wrap so will be giving the interior a go at the weekend!

I need some clips and string for my parcel shelf as mine seem to be missing but don't fancy paying £20 for the pair on eBay!

Still waiting on the silver carbon wrap to turn up but managed to remove the wood trim from the door cards in the mean time.

Really struggling with the gear gaitor surround though, got the boot inside out but can't seem to manage to shift any of the 4 clips holding it in place at the base, even with a flat head, anyone got any tips?

Ok so the carbon finally turned up and had a crack at it last night and this morning:

A big improvement over the wood trim in my opinion. Was a bit trickier than expected, especially the rear door trims, got some really awkward bends on them :)

Pretty cheap mod but makes a big difference!

    Cheers.
