im looking at buying a Mitsubishi l200 warrior for work, its on a 54 plate and has had the ralliart power upgrade and i also noticed that it has had a decat pipe fitted, but has just been mot'd, 2 days ago by the garage

how can it have passed an mot with a decat fitted, they didnt put a cat on for the test, it thought it was law to have one fitted for the test.

thay have told me that as long as the emissons are low enough it doesnt always need one fitted?

the engine is a 2.5 turbo diesel if that makes a difference

are they right or all they stringing me along, i dont want to buy it and find next year i have to fork out for a cat

When i had my 306 s16 decat they told me the same, as long as it passes the emissions test it is not an issue. I guess this is upto the tester?

The diesel emmisions test is pathetic, you stab on the throttle to max when the computer tells you to, then release it, it calculates the emmisions on the rev down. Petrol test is more thorough.
