After some advice with abit of moss build-up I have noticed.

I have small amounts of green moss in-between the window and window-seals, also around the roof rail area on my A4.

I had used a pin to scrape parts of it out without damaging the paintwork, however if I was to remove the moss that way around the rest of the car it would take me all day!

I have thought about using a diluted moss/weedkiller - drenching the areas then washing the car the next day.
Would this be a bad idea?

Hi Alex, you could use some anti bacterial fluid (like you use on work surfaces in your kitchen) it should do the trick. I dont think i would use anything with bleach in it as dont know what it would do to the paintwork. If you know anyone with tropical fish, they must use something to clean the tank. :) x

On cars I've cleaned that have had moss growing on them, always used a strong APC solution, leave to dwell for 5 mins or so then attack the moss with a stiff detailing brush

Always works for me! :thumbs up:

You could always take my girlfriends viewpoint "Offsetting the carbon footprint" and leave it be.

yes, APC (all purpose cleaner) and a brush will get rid of it all...

you can get decent APC in the supermarkets, no need for "specialist" car stuff....

I did the wife's Yaris with Auto Finesse Citrus Power and a toothbrush. Worked a charm.

I've used white vinegar before, to get rid of the moss spores.
