More Quattro Advice Sought

    If I chose the Quattro option on a new 2.0 TDI Sport 170 sportback does anyone know:
    1. How much the mpg would reduce by compared with FWD

    2. Would there be a noticeable loss of performance both from standstill and through the gears.

    3. When it comes to resale is the Quattro option sought after.

    1. Hardly anything, 2mpg-ish

    2. Again Hardly anything, it adds about 0.1sec to the 0-60

    3. Sought after? Uncertain. Easier to sell? Yes.

    Quattro it is then.... in 8 weeks. :)

    Now plan to get it chipped although AMD won't have a 170 for a week or two to advise exactly what they can do and the costl

    Possibly more significant is the fact that the VW/Audi Group will be bringing out all-new common rail diesels next year (and about time too!)

    So, you can expect a big drop in resale value of the old PD cars when that happens.
