MMI IPhone 6+ issues

Hi

i have an Audi A4 (B8), and i have got the yellow collered lighting cable (serial No ends in AL) to connect my IPhone6+, but the AMI system was saying device/cable not supported, it is now just saying device not supported.

Do i need need to update the AMI system? or is the cable the real issue?
