I need some help as my MMI has failed due to water ingress (rear washer) in the rear n/s panel soaking the Bose amplifier. (have upgraded music in my 2.7Tdi Avant S line 2007). I dried it out and it worked for a while but bit by bit the volume, radio, screen, blue tooth etc started to fail. Now nothing works.
Have tried to find a replacement amp but to no avail, (£1000 for a new one +++?) Some say even if you find one it won't work as it needs coding by Audi?
I understand this is a known (design) problem DSC01090.JPG and in certain cases Audi have admitted fault & repaired/replaced?

Has anyone out there had a similar experience? Any suggestions how I can approach this please .......

You'll have to push main dealer hard... highlight things like:- i) future servicing ii) future purchasing... lay it on thick!

Seen a thread on another forum where someone got FOC amp...

Will PM you link... otherwise maybe find AMP on ebay.de or breaking car... not sure if "Component Protection" is something you going to hit besides coding... there is a garage in Harrow which remove CP for about £60 Link:- Diagnostic equipment of Audi VW Specialists Centre in London

Call your local Audi centre and get them to check for re-calls this was a recall on certain models.

The latest is Audi dealer wants £3300 to replace the lot (Bose, Radio & Sat Nav) as they say just replacing one could blow the lot. Yes, there is a recall on the rear washer (leaking into the tailgate & potentially wrecking the electronics) but not a "safety issue" so they don't bother to tell owners! Such bull****!

Most of that can be picked up off ebay for less than £1000, but before you replace the lot as they say, just bypass each module until you identify the failing module, usually the amp as that's on the top, you would be very unlucky for all 3 to be damaged. Pity your so far away or I could have sorted it for you.
