Hi All,

Just bought myself a Turbo back Milltek and looking to fit it this weekend. Now i know ur all going to say ive done a school boy error. But i rang myself insurance to add the milltek cat back as im not looking to fit the down pipe for a while as i would need a remap.

Axa my insurance company said they cant insure me as its a high performance mod. Have any one else had this?

Also any advice would be great.

Thanks

Ryan

My advise is don't fit it as your insurance will be void...

If you can't wait until your renewal then cancel your current policy and go with a specialist insurance like greenlight etc.

Greenlight called me today, i was in the middle of an audit, asked if they could call back in the afternoon as requested online, still waiting...

Who would you guys recommend. im 24 and not many companies will insure me with a S3. I have 6 years NCB aswell :( but im currently only paying £700 fully comp.

I do really want to fit it as its sat on the floor next to me waiting to go on

Please feel free to get in touch, we specialise in performance and modifoied car insurance, we offer up to a 20% discount to audi-sport.net members.

Our telephone number is 03303 331250

Whens your renewal? Obviously none of us can stop you, but I'd really advise against fitting it without it being added to your insurance, they'll do anything not to pay out.

Insurance companies can be a pain in the ****!! A catback won't make much difference to performance. Just more noise. Most of the performance is in the downpipe.

I aswell would suggest swapping to a specialist such as greenlight if you can!

I requested a quote from Admiral-they treated a cat-back as a 'non-standard' exhaust. Didnt want to know anything about performance gains, make, model or anything from the exhaust even though I offered. Seem to remember is was somewhere in the region of £35 increase.

Ive cancelled my insurance today and moving to elephant that have insured my exhaust and intake for 1000. :) Good thing is they will also allow me to add mods during my policy :)

So tomorrow im fitting the exhaust!
