As above........The B5 perches lower the front 10-15mm and make it visually more level with the rear.

Thanks. I ran the car with different upper and lower for a while but personally it looks a lot better now with both carbon wrapped........easily removable if I change my mind in the future ;)

Its been a while and have done a couple of things

First bought an A5 Sline gear knob

    and transplanted it to my gaitor;

I also put the car into winter mode by taking off the wheels and putting the smaller 17's on.....dirty car already :)

I also chopped the end of the exhaust tips off being a TDI a while ago and put some straight oval RS4 style tips on.

That is all for now, but saving for a B6 leather interior at the moment :) as that is the one main thing I am missing!

    Small update:

Had a couple of side wall punctures which have written off the tyre so that is an unexpected expense and the front bumper got knocked by a parallel parker who had no spacial awareness......pi$$ed me right off and denied it all even though I saw it happen while walking back to my car.

Otherwise been collecting black trim panels to convert my platinum grey sport interior and almost have a complete kit, so will have a lot of trim panels to move on soon like my armrest if anyone is interested (post is in the classifieds) and my sport seats in the near future

    Hi mike.

interested to know how you mod the rear valance to take the twin pipes on page 1, where they are side by side. Did you cut a hole in the original valance and are they nust cosmetic exhaust ends or is that a different back box?

    cheers

    G

Original system with the bent tail pipe cut off and new stainless trims put on. I also cut the notch out the valance to allow the tips to come out.

I alot of time and effort with tweaks

Where did you get your exhaust tips from, as mine is missing them being a sport as well, I take it you just cut your rear valance if so how did you finish it off?

eBay for the tips and they are oval and slash cut top to bottom and then sided as are also slash cut left to right/ right to left if that makes sense......RS4 style and follow the shape of the bumper.

I cut the valance holes and finished the edge with door edging that I heat moulded/shaped and then black siliconed it on.

Well I finally finished my interior change over xmas and please with the outcome (picture will follow once the weather calms down) , but still need a set of new tyres for the CSL wheels due to the side wall puncture.

Also began to clear out the garage of spare parts, so like the spare DIS on classified other parts will appear like my platinum grey sport interior and the matching armrest.

As mentioned I finished the interior swap to the black version but have recently also changed my trim from the 4D black carbon to 4D silver carbon to get the interior contrast. Still not 100% sold on the silver but it is growing on me:

It's looking good. Like the 4D sliver carbon, it looks similar to the sliver fish scale that's in my quattro. Was it hard to do the folding mirrors?

Cheers and it is growing on me.

Power fold mirrors was an easy mod in terms of fitting.....the pain was finding the parts, in particular the correct door modules.

Got a spare power fold mirror switch if your going on the hunt, otherwise it is patience and part number clarification with people

I like the silver trim, I was all set to do that on mine but bottled it in the end as I wasn't sure it would be in keeping. Does look good though.

It is growing on me as got used to the black version.

Can give you some silver carbon to try out when the heat shield is ready.

Thanks anyway, but the A6 doesn't need it :o.k:

I've not forgotten the heat shield, it's got your name on it.

Well had a day off as needed to use some holiday up and did a number of thing on the car that I have been meaning to do.

Fitted the exhaust heat shield that I got off QuattroJames.....thanks mate and nice to catch up......fitted a treat.

I then popped to the breakers and found an A6 with a double door ski hatch with ski bag so nabbed that quick and went about fitting.

    Out with that
    [IMG]

A bit of trimming and removed the ski bag for now

Ahhh man! I've been keeping an eye out on ebay for one of those for over a year now, it looks great! Without folding seats this is on my absolute "must do" mod list.

Don't suppose you managed to get any part numbers off it? If one doesn't appear on ebay any time soon I may have to pay whatever the dealer price is.

    No part number unfortunately mate.

    It's off a 2004 A6 C5......they are about £200 from a dealer/TPS when I last looked.......£5 is all I paid LOL

Breakers is in Poole and called Trents. Seat out job to cut the metal properly and then reinstall and take a knife and carefully cut a hole either side before sliding this hatch in from the boot side first

Cheers all. Needs some minor tweaks to fit and undecided about the ski bag installation or not but will keep it in the spares box for now.

Planning on buying the interior trim for the A4 to get a better fit that the A6 version to be perfect........otherwise the A6 frame is perfectly usable.

How did you get on with the cruise retrofit? Did you have to change your steering control module?
