The time has come to suck it up and sort out my cambelt, tensioner and water pump (78,000 miles!)

Can anyone reccomend a decent VAG garage in the West Midlands for this work? How much should i expect to pay?

From what i can tell it's best to get tensioner and pump done at the same time...that right?

    cheers in advance

    p.s. 2001 A3 1.8TS by the way

I got my 130tdi done by Stoke Audi about £420 inc water pump, not bad for a stealer, they advertise on E-bay drop them a line!

The top VW guys in the area are,

    S P Simnett Cradley
    Midland VW Cannock
    VW Rescue Gornal
    Autotechnik Cradley

    Not dealers but top specialists.

On the 1.8 petrols it is best to change the water pump. Make sure you get one with a metal impellar! There are some dodgy plastic ones out there.
