Got a quote from All German Parts for the complete set for £350 which seems like a good price. Has anyone seen the set cheaper anywhere else?

That is a very good price, i paid £395 for mine a couple of months ago.

I thought so too. I bet the kit makes one hell of a difference. Any particular points to bear in mind when fitting it all?

Do all b6 have two upper ones on each side or is it just the s4?

Got a link for these please as I need mine changing?

Found them,is it this kit..

Local garage. I've heard there's a procedure for torquing up as the car is lowered back onto it's wheels, if you know what I mean?

What's the garage charging for labour?
Assume you'll get a 4wheel alignment after too?

they all have two top arms.

Thanks
What else does the kit come with and estimate cost of fitting?

I've had two quotes to fit both sides upper arms at c,£500 and one quote at £300 ish
All using the same parts twr?

That's £405

I contacted Jason Hunter at AGP he agreed £355 delivered. I wasn't aware there is two kits to choose from, I'll look into this on Monday. Haven't discussed fitting costs yet although he reckoned one hour per corner for replacing the complete suspension so maybe double it. I'm not bothered about the fitting cost, he only charges £25 per hour. The tyre centre is next door so they will re-track and fit 2 or maybe 4 tyres.

This is simply a 'How to spend your tax rebate very quickly'. Can't wait!!

Thanks
Who's fitting it AGP

Yeah looking above two sets with different part numbers

Is there anything else I should consider replacing when fitting this kit along with new suspension?

my local VAG specialist told me TRW are very good aswell, they use them if you don't specify differently

I was told they seen some rubbish non oem actually a few garages have and they automatically opt for trw
For quality to fit and longevity

16mm kits are for alloy uprights (rs4/b6 onwards) and 20mm kits are for steel uprights (B5's etc) iirc

I've just had a Meyle HD kit fitted and as my shocks were knackered, rear top mounts were way past the end of life so had everything replaced too. Kit came with drop links and tie rods too.

Car feels like new now! Extremely tight!

mines in at awesome gti being fitted at the moment, was expecting to go in for it yesterday but the dreaded pinch bolt has snapped and is causing them some headaches!

Ill report back how it feels later if I get to pick it up

I would highly advise not to use anything but Lemforder control arm components.

Lemforder produce these OE for Audi on B5/B6/B7 etc.

By using non genuine components such as Meyle, you will actually pre-load the rest of the arms in the system, and cause premature failure of the other components.

You can purchase the OE Lemforder set for a very competitive rate!
For example, B6 S-Line kit for front end:
B6 Sline arm kit

AGP have access to purchase these as well, just ask for Lemforder components.

If anyone would like further info just reply/PM.

Also if youre not interested in the whole kit, you can purchase the Lemforder OE arms separately, some part numbers below:
B6 Example

Obviously depends entirely on spec of your vehicle, but again i can give this info to anyone who needs it.

Cheers

Surely fitting a COMPLETE set of Meyle for example is fine as there are no other arms in the suspension to pre-load as I replaced all of them, and all the ancillary parts like rod ends and drops to the FARB? I could understand it if you did a part replacement.....

Yeah if it's all replaced no bother... surely!! I do understand what mangalo means though.

Well lemforder will always be more expensive because its OE lol...

But none the less, the difference is with the OE that you get what was originally designed for the car.
E.G. Lemforder arms on this multi link system are designed to bend in an accident rather than snap. So when you pay that bit extra, thats what you get!

Typical example on ECP' Lemforder Audi | Euro Car Parts UK’s No.1 Car Parts Retailer

Indeed changing the entire arm kit with another brand is not nesaraily going to cause major issues, but you wont be able to setup the S Curve calibration which defines and controls the toe in - toe out setup.

I've heard no end amount of stories where people dont use OE in the multilink platform, and they cant even do a wheel alignment because the materials and rubber components dont work in the same manner.

And just if your interested, heres some info on one of the kits available, you can use the part number below to gain prices.
Kit comes with new stretch bolts as well.
Lemforder Part Number: 31913 01 (other kits available, just an example)

The history of my car is zilch, so assuming it's had some attention over the years it probably has been fitted with some non oem parts.

Its not the end of the world if you have, its just worth baring in mind when changing components in the future.

Is the Meyle Kit for the B6 the same as the kit for the B7, does anyone know?

B6 kit vs B7 kit

The ebay B6 kit is 116 050 0083/HD and the Amazon B7 kit is 116 050 0085/HD.

Anyone know?

i asked this question when the b7 set came up cheap a few weeks ago on amazon and unfortunatly no one seemed to know, i tried comparing each set and some of the parts do have different no's while others have the same so maybe some of the kit is different but i thought b6b7 where the same!
