Manifold Issue 98 1.8T

Hey All,

I just got my exhaust replaced, only to find out that the exhaust manifold has a huge crack in it too (that'll explain it getting quieter as it gets hot!) the lad I use is no VAG expert, but tells me it looks like the turbo and wastegate are all part of the manifold. Is he correct? is there any advantage to fitting a more recent/different unit or combo to the factory stuff? I dont have massive budget, but with added benefit, I am willing to up the repair cost a little.

Any info appreciated.

You can get a new manifold and stick all your current stuff on it.

There was a thread earlier with a manifold on it, might be worth having a look back or do a search.
