    After reading threads about anti-roll bars and coilovers im slightly off about lowering my A3. I was tempted to buy a set of Fk coilovers and it said something like this on the site (Height adjustable (both axles), TUV approved. Wheelspacers might be necessary when using standard rims. If drive shaft diameter more than 42mm FKPSW01 required)

    What is all this about??? Also i heard that a set of aftermarket anti-roll bars are needed. Can anyone explain this to me??? Im looking to lower the car as low as possible on 19'' RS4's. Are camber kits needed also, cause when i had the civic, i needed to buy a camber kit because the cars wern't adjustable. Anything would be greatly appreciated!:happy:

    I guess they recommend spacers because the tyre will touch the inner wall if you lower it very much. Normal wheels have a very high offset on the A3, ET50, and the 19" RS4 are probably not far off.

    I would just buy the FK (allthough i would opt for KW instead) and see if the height you set it to touches the inner housing.

    The Roll bar should not be required

    marriedblonde should be able to help with this - he's lowered his car and has spacers on the wheels too (I think).

    ive got a brand new set of kw springs that i never got around to fitting,still in box with invoice if you decide on springs,they lower 40mm,or 20mm for the s-line.

    anyone got opinions on the eibach street coilover kit?

    My opinion is that KW are the leaders when it comes to coilovers. I could not say if there is a big difference from FK or Eibach as they are well known names aswell, but i don't think you can go wrong if you go for KW.

    i want lowness on 19" or maybe 18" alloys with comfort too

    dont want the boucny-ness i had with my Spax RSX coilovers in my clio :S

    i've not installed coilovers but have put 19s on my A3 with 30mm eibach spring drop. Not had problem with this. Have 10mm spacers on to help fill out the arches and again no rubbing issues.

    I do sometimes get a little rubbing on the front bumper with the tarmac (not the wheels) when going too fast over speed bumps, but i have a custom one fitted (Rieger). There was a guy called only1stefan on here with the rieger front bumper and 50mm drop. I don't know how he drove that thing without shaving his bumper on loose stone chips on the road!

    What about Weitec? Made and owned by KW but a cheaper option?

    I also wanted a cheaper option, to begin with atleast.

    Got myself the Eibach sportline springs on ebay.de for 150euros. They lower about 40-50mm on my s-line dampers.

    If your shocks don't have many miles on them and you aren't going to low then lowering springs are a good and cheap option! :thumbsup:

    john cook - whats the ride like on the 19's?

    i had 18s and coilovers on my clio - ride was ok but bouncy at times

    not wanting the same again really, im liking the comfort of the tdi sport
