Sorry for strange title. If when pulling off from a standstill I floor it I get the worst , most horrible and loud "Vrrrrt" noise. If you take off slow there is no issue. All gear changes are fine after the initial take off and kick down etc works as should. What could the cause of the noise be ? As I said only happens at initial take off if flooring it.

I would check the engine and gearbox mounts. When these fail the extra movement will allow the engine / gearbox/ exhaust to contact the body or heat shields etc, especially when launching hard from standstill.

That's what I thought a heat shield noise. Is there any info anywhere on inspecting the mounts ? Is it a big job to do/expensive ?

So, typically. Had mechanic round today and it won't make the noise !! 1/2 an hour launching from a stop, hot and cold and nothing ! He looked at mounts and with engine running and revving etc said they looked normal ! Anything else could cause this ? Guess I'll have to get it on a ramp.
