Hi all, i have been thinking of buying a a3 s line quattro on a 06 plate, just wondering what the difference is between that and the s3, obviously apart from styling and interior, brakes, do they both run the same engine and internals??? i would be getting a s3 recaro interior and s3 bumpers for it, mtm bimottos and a gt35r kit when funds would allow and a bigger set of brakes ,

Same base engine, but the A3 has a smaller turbo and slightly different internals.

I'll dig up some press blurb for you...

Like I said, this is press blurb, so there's not a lot of solid technical detail, but...

This text is taken from the original 8P S3 release in August 2006. AFAIK there have been no dramatic changes to engine spec with the recent facelift.

That sums it up well. Even if you were to replace the turbo and intercooler later, you'd get up to S3 power, but the engine won't have the strong internals, so has more chance of going bang.

Similar to the differences between the 150/180 and 225bhp 1.8T engines.
