    Hello,

Been here before and owned an early S3 :) To cut a long story short, thought there were a few things that could be improved on my S3 before, when I looked in to it, it was going to cost me in excess of 2k to sort. But I'm back in the market for a S3 after a ClioV6,Evo VI, S2000.
The S3 I'm looking at is modified, but is from a trader, so there is not much history but AFSH up to 45k miles, and would love to ask the previous owner so many questions, is it anyones off here? Brembo front brakes, powerflow exhaust (what do these sound like, any performance increase?), koni shocks, red springs (would these be H&R?), the trader thinks its been mapped. If I bought the car, could a tuner tell me who mapped it?
The car is a 2002 car in a very dark blue, what blue is this? It also has 55k miles and is over due a service, as the last was at 45k.
Are the Brembos Seat Leon items, if so how much are disks and pads for this setup? There are no receipts for any of the mods, which is a shame. There also looks like an alloy pipe on the front passenger side, this could be just a different lower pipe? I'm guessing it would have been mapped after these mods? Want to keep away from it, as it has signs that I'd normally avoid, but I'd like a modified one to save me money long term. Also I'm a long way away from the car, I'm relying on a mates mechanic to look at it for me, does anyone know any decent Audi mechanics/enthuasists in the Chester area?
I'm very keen and may put a deposit down over the phone tom, but I'm very wary, any advice anyone?
Long shot, does anyone know who owned this car, or know's of this car 2002 audi with the above mods?
    Thanks

It would not put you off buying a modfied car? Prob is if I buy a std car with the view to modify it, it will never happen as am getting married.
Powerflow, are they any good? I'm too old to be a barry ;)

To be honest if you buy a car as you described above.

    Brembos £500+
    Remap £400+
    Coilovers £500+
    Exhaust £500+

Almost 2k all guestimates i never bought any of the above, now add ARB's, spacers, DV, Samco pipes etc your gonna save cash in the long run no doubt. Even if you have problems with it how serious can they be ? I wouldnt have thought 2k+ serious.

sounds like my old one got rid of it to stockport audi about four weeks ago they gave 9150 for it and i got the new model. my old one had too much to list but the brembo,s were silver full blueflame exhaust and new h&r coil overs and it had a front mount intercooler. if it is you are getting a bargain mate and i have all the receipts here with all the extra,s all i ask is don,t mention anything to the dealer

for a decent audi/vw specialist near chester i can highly recommend Renn-tech in ellesmere port. I had my cam timing and rear axle bushes replaced by them and the price and service was excellent.
