Been lurking and reading for while now and had look about other forums but this seems like the place to be :) finally taking the plunge looking to pick up 65plate S3 hopefully the weekend, am already looking at mods and upgrades before i even have the keys :whistle2::whistle2:

Almost went with 12plate RS3 but decided against it.

have couple questions as its given me a bit of headache lol

wana go with a stage 1 ECU remap, but also looking at the induction upgrade along with CTS elbow/turbo delete upgrade , problem is I can’t decide lol.

Was looking at this the revo intake system. (i have attached pic) still trying to get used to this so forgive melol
Revo cf intake

it looks real nice and would compliment any engine bay but am I right in thinking I wouldn’t need to buy separate CTS elbow, but the above link doesn’t come with the turbo muffler delete?

or the racing line VWR R600 kit, complete with muffler delete an CTS elbow (ebay num 152621294322 )

Racing line

Anyone have any these induction kits? Bit of kid at heart so I still love the noise of open filter but am not willing to lose performance from sucking up hot air, do any these links still give a little better noise than the standard kit?

So If I get the CTS/Muffler delete with intake upgrade along with stage 1 remap. Any idea roughly what gain I could be looking at?

Got loads question but I will start couple separate threads.

Thanks in advance chaps! This place rocks :rockwoot:

The extent of my modding stretches to apply the audi-sport.net decal to my rear window so not much help to you mate.
Always good to have new members. You'll find the forum to be helpful with a bit of friendly banter thrown in.
Look forward to seeing pics of the new chariot when you get it.

PS your avatar with the pic of your other half standing next to your current car is stunning :whistle2:

Brilliant! :tearsofjoy:
For the decals, go to the main page of the forum. At the bottom under Trading Post there's a section called Shop. That's the bit you need mate. Can choose from internally or externally applied and silver/grey or full colour. Mines on the What have you done to your 8V thread fairly recently.

Hi welcome to the forum !

I’ve had both intakes that you posted above. Correct you don’t need the intake elbow with the Revo one there is a machined large bore adaptor part that fits directly to the oversize silicon intake pipe.
The VWRacingline kit as you have pictured comes with its own VWR intake elbow and not the CTS one but very similar and do the same job VWR is slightly better quality than the CTS part and have 2 ‘o’ rings to the turbo rather than one.

TMD doesn’t do a fat lot I’ve had a Revo one and a VWR one - the Revo one went discoloured so I swapped it out for the VWR one which was very well made and had a better solution for tolerance compensation and sealing hence the rubber boot rather than a separate piece of foam.

Given the choice if you have the £££ go with the Revo intake and air box lid/turbo inlet combo but if you must have a TMD go with the VWR one.

As per @Rob2k68 the Revo full kit is expensive but a lovely addition to the engine bay, both cosmectially and performance wise.

Professor Rob knows best! lol
I went with APR only cos thats what was more readily available to me here....airbox wise REVO one looks the nuts....but there's lots of serious modders putting in the VWR one....but I'd listen to Rob if I was you as his advice is sound as a pound :)
Oh, one last thing....I think you only need the TMD for Stage 3....so if you are staying at Stage 2 its not really necessary....little bit of extra noise with intake, maybe some more response....splitting hairs a bit really, but its not that expensive if you have to have.
I'm not a rep or anything for APR, but recently saw their cast turbo elbow and its a nice bit of work....which bolts up to a carbon pipe (not like that cheap REVO hose lol)...and carbon air intake etc....[fishing for abuse]
If you like a bit of induction noise I can recommend the Forge (or A N other good quality) blow off valve....depends how boyracer you want to go :)

Hello mate, the APR cast inlet elbow is indeed a quality piece of kit. This is my current setup :-

very nice young man :)
I think the VWR hose connection is the right way to go (despite me having the bendable APR carbon one) due to smooth airflow....assume you connected all that up to your REVO carbon intake right?
how is the new car?.....you've been suspiciously quiet ie. not wanting to rain on anyone's Audi parade lol

Hey thanks buddy :friends:, just plumbed it into the standard air box and front scoop. I’m trying to keep this one fairly warranty friendly and sold all of the Revo and most of the go faster bits from the S3.

Tis great thanks - trying to get my head round adaptive cruise as never had that before and the MMI which is very different.

Congrats on the new car, I don't usually like the chrome trim but it does fit well with the blue.
It's a slippery slope once you start modding but I'll just leave this here:whistle2:

Thanks mate! Super happy with it was grinning like a cheshire cat last night.time start buying a snow foam and cleaning products lol
Posted my snow foaming results on "Pics of your 8V" thread yesterday. Decent foam lance and products was the best thing I ever bought for the car. Just a quick wash to get rid of the worst of the recent road gritting / salt.

Thanks very much mate, appreciated :friends:

Bad timing on my part, I just mentioned them in your other thread. Autobrite Foam lance plus Meguiars Hyper Wash for the foam. Ordered on Amazon. There are others but that's the first foam I bought and it does the trick. I ended up with two 5 litre containers of it. When I got the S5 I ordered it, didn't show up so they sent another. Then low and behold the first one arrived weeks later after being detained at Irish Customs enroute to Scotland :tearsofjoy:

Yeah mate. My "local" team is Falkirk (was brought up near there but not living there now). Hence my user name as Falkirk folk are known as Bairns. but supported Liverpool since '77 (showing my age) when Dalglish signed and I got my No. 7 Hitachi home kit as a kid lol. Next game I'm at is Newcastle in March. Should've been a few weeks ago but couldn't go. #YNWA
