Liquid Gauge finish

Evening all, i've had my liquid gauge (in drivers vent) for months now and I really like it Just wondered what peoples opinions on the finish were?

I'm referring to the plastic casing it sits in really rather than the liquid itself. Just wondering if I was unlucky as a one off or others are the same.

My plastic surround has imperfections/blemishes I can only describe as pitting (like when you spray paint something badly with a rattle can). Is this the norm? Am I being a little picky?

Other than that i'm really enjoying it
