Light warning bing...gone!

Hi I've got A4 B6 quattro sport 2.5tdi (not sure if that lot matters?)
I've noticed that the warning bing I used to get when getting out of the car after leaving the lights on no longer works! The same goes for the car alarm, it's now silent, any ideas?

if car alarm is silent it's likely that the battery has gone in it. There's a DIY repair available in the stickies section, or follow this link http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/audi-a4-b6-alarm-siren-replace-nimh-batteries.90361/

If they both stopped at the same time then they could be linked, but my alarm doesn't have a siren but my warning still sounds when I leave the lights on.

Could be the wiring for the drivers door, if it can't see the doors open there won't be a warning, can you scan channel 46 central convenience , for fault codes?
