Left rear door won't open from outside

Hi,

I have had an odd problem with my A4 2004 B7 since I got it a few weeks ago.

All doors lock fine with central locking, but the rear left door won't open unless you open it from inside the car. Once it's opened once from inside, it will open from the outside OK.

I have the following fault code:-

I've visually inspected the wiring going into the the door module, and it appears fine, although I haven't tried a continuity test.

There is a replacement module available on ebay:-

Anyone had a similar issue?

01561 - Rear Left Door: Can't Unlock

Possible Causes

• Wiring/Connector from/to Central Locking Actuator: Rear Left Door (F132) faulty
• Central Locking Actuator: Rear Left Door (F132) faulty

Possible Solutions

• Check Wiring/Connector from/to Central Locking Actuator: Rear Left Door (F132)
• Check Central Locking Actuator: Rear Left Door (F132)
  • See Measuring Blocks OR perform Output Test

Where is the Central Locking Actuator ?

Found a cable going from the window motor to the door lock. If I remove the cabling, this stops the door lock from working.

I'm guessing that it's either this cable or the locking actuator.

I've also noticed that when locking/unlocking the passenger rear door I get an extra click, that is not there for the other three.

Can anyone offer any help/advice?

because now i'm facing exactly the same.

Ihave the same problem on the odd occasion, all the doors lock OK , but the rear offset door wont unlock and I have to open from inside, never had any errors in vcds either....
had the door card off to check connections etc and all is fine....its really irritating aswell, maybe happens once a few months , then maybe nothing again for 6 months...
not sure what it is to be honest...if you do find out let us know for future reference.
