LED number plate bulbs ?

As above is anyone running these mine keep blowing ! I ve used voltage regulated ones & ones capable of resisting high voltages such as 18v. Still flickering or blowing after time (6months).

I changed my numberplate lights from a festoon type bulb to 501 style white leds and they are much better. Loads brighter and been in for years.

how did you do that then ? that did actually cross my mind, did you use some sort of holders ?

Yea basically i had some old indicator bulb holders for 501s. Then i just snipped the wires an connected them back up to the new holder. Then the holder an the new led bulb just sit in where the old festoon bulb used to be.

You could have some sort of wiring short though as the bulbs keep blowing.

Standard bulbs run fine its just the LED bulbs that dot last i might just purchase some 501 holders & wire them into the number plate recess plastic thingy.

Oh ok sorry read it wrong. I've had no problems with the 501's.
