Hi all,
Anyone had any experience in getting this repaired?

Mines leaking slightly from the propshaft seal I think but would have the drive shaft seal done aswel...

Anyone had this done and what did it cost?

Cheers ;-)

Unfortunately it's a sealed unit - there is a shaft that goes through the entire transfer box and it is recommended that this is not removed without opening up the box itself. You can actually buy the seal.

Oh dear that's not going to be cheap!

So you can buy the seals though? Could just get a gearbox specialist to do it then?

Why does the box need splitting? Looking at the diagram the seal sits in the front sections, the rest are washers and bearings.

Are you saying that bears etc will need replacing and it's because they have worn that the seal has gone?

As per my first message - there is a shaft that goes through the transfer box that needs to be removed before you can replace the seal.

Ah sorry I forgot you said that, thanks :-D

Have you done the job yourself? My mate works in a garage where we will do the job so tools won't be an issue...
