Last SDS Questions I promise...

Hello as you may have read i recently tried the SDS hack.
I still cant get it working properly so Im thinking of reverting back to just bluetooth for the phone only but wanted to check one last time if theres anything Ive done wrong?
Th mi from the roof goes as follows.
Pin 1 of mic to Pin 1 of block C
Pin 2 of mic to Pin 7 of block C
Wires that used to go from the Bluetooth unit to the mic now go to Pins 4 and 10 of block C

Thats how I have it set up. If i swap the wires for 1 and 7 around the mic doesnt work, so I assume I have those rite. The same goes for if I swap the wires for Pins 4 and 10.
If I try to use the PTT for anything other than the phone it says option not available.
The problem now is that when I press the PTT and say Select name it now says "option not available" but if I say "Radio" it dials my home phone number?

Im thinking maybe its best I just go back to having bluetooth only, wired straight to the MIC and forget about SDS, even though the options are available through the RNS-E it simply wont work.
Is there any coding that needed changing?
Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Chris,

I'm going to be attempting this today (joy!) and as far as I'm aware, if you have factory bluetooth and RNS-E setup then there is no need to recode via VAG COM. Most of the guides I've seen have started from the base point with factory bluetooth and RNS-E and have not involved any coding, whilst this may not help, it may allow you to rule recoding out for now?

Do you have BOSE? Apparently you need to move 1 wire in the Quadlock connector that plugs into the back of the RNS-E althought I've yet to find direct instruction on this...

Regardless if you have factory BT/RNS-E, if its not been wired for SDS from factory, you have to code the systems for SDS bottom line.

Woody whats your coding for BT, MFSW & RNS-E, a log of those modules may help.

Thanks N, managed to find something on this where they suggest the recoding that needs to be done is to the Bluetooth Module only and the changes to the coding = from 1xxxx to 1xx0x to enable SDS.

I guess it depends on the config of other modules... guess i need to get me VCDS/VAG COM

I didnt have either RNS-E or Bluetooth as standard and I believe the guides you say about are the ones I read before I started posting on here about the SDS hack myself . Thank you though.
Nigel I dont have access to VCDS at the moment but will ask the guy next door if i could borrow his sons again. I have a log from a scan I ran before giving it back though but not sure if that would show what needs to be known or not? Im pretty sure that this was the first scan I did after finding my bluetooth fault, it had been coded with k-line diagnostics instead of can bus at the "Audi Specialist".
