Nice one cheers, is there any differences in them? Or is it just dependent on the year of the car for the engine code? Am I right in saying people change the valves when going for high power output on these?

All 20v heads are interchangeable... AEB/AGU and some ADR are large port... going for big power (i.e. a GT28, GT30 or bigger) then a valve swap is highly recommended to allow you to safely rev to around 7.8k rpm which is typically where peak power will be made on BT's

AEB will be from an A4 or Passat (maybe an A6 too...) and AGU from Golfs and early A3's... AEB's are easier to get hold of...

Anyone whos gone down this route would it be more cost effective/cheaper to source the parts yourself and get someone to refurb/build or....buy a complete built head new or used

    thoughts chaps

Sorry to hijak the post but no point starting a new one for the same thing.

I myself am sourcing everything myself and having a mechine shop doing the work before I build the engine myself. This Is my want and cheepest option anyway.
