I never had issues with vista, or 7, and 8 is great on a tablet
My vaio is in classifieds
Hi mate its probably a driver or something problem then! have you installed anything recently? and updates?
Tried doing updates but it freezes when I try and wont do anything. I'm going to pop to the local computer specialist tomorrow. I've tried everything.
Is there much difference between 7 and 8? Why don't you like 8?
8 is optimised for touchscreen devices, I only had a brief play, it's horrible to use on normal laptops, but of course there is a button to switch to conventional windows mode.
There's no button. You have to pay extra for a program for that. 8 is a load of w**k and nothing is comparable
microsoft are going back to the tradional start button soon for windows 8 that is
Well to it to one of the IT experts at work, and he ran a program and I had 3000 'problems' too many things trying to open on start up, and a few virus's!!!! I'm going to upgrade to Windows 7 64bit, install 6GB RAM and 250GB SSD! That should keep things running sweetly.
What speed processor have you got?
AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-74 2.20Ghz
Should be a nice little PCM then
Pc. Stupid auto correct on my phone.
Ah! I thought it was another computer acronym that I didn't know! lol.
I've just seen a 4GB Ram for £49 and a 250GB Samsung SSD! That should make my laptop faster! I would take out my 1GB ram, leaving the 2GB Ram and install the 4GB bringing it up to 6GB RAM.
Yeh. Get an external hard drive cos 75gb will go straight to the operating system and the rest will fill quickly lol
i had problems with vista so went to win 7 when it come out runs alot more smoothly, but as said above try uninstaling useless things and cleaning and defraging the macheen might be a bit more responsive however there always is the option of formating and reinstalling every thing
Anyone know where I can get a cheap copy of windows 7 or 8 64bit?
Try amazon. x
I'm too tight for that Sandra! lol

Before you upgrade to Windows 7 it may be an idea to run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
- Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows
This will let you know if all the components of your computer are compatible with Windows 7 - not just hardware, but also peripherals.
There is also a Windows 8 Upgrade advisor - just search for Windows 8 Upgrade Advisor. These will also tell you if your graphics card is compatible - basically gives you a report on whether your PC will run Win 7 or Win 8.
Good advice. I would go a step further and say never attempt to update a Windows laptop. The problem with laptops is that the drivers are built by the hardware manufacturers rather than device manufacturers, so they don't tend to support them beyond 6 months. I upgraded two Sony Vaio laptops from Vista to 7 and both were a dogs dinner afterwards.
I ran the windows 7 upgrade advisor and it will accept it no problem. Im going to do a full clean install of 64 bit windows 7 rather than the update.
