Bowfer - you going to buy a bimmer next then?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope,I have a (very) shortlist and it's not on it.

    A4 Avant 2.0tdi quattro S-line
    Alfa 159
    Golf Gti

    All manual. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The A4 is the boring option, but quattro would be handy in the snow.

The Gti is the fastest option.

The Alfa 159 is the beautiful option, inside and out.

    Had one before.

Nothing wrong with the local dealer, even though the car was an import.(Arnold Clark Fiat/Alfa).

got to say it was the 0-60 time with the DSG that made me want one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    So the Sales Tactics worked.

SO WHO WANTS TO DO A TRACK DAY ??

    S-line, count me in.

I've always wanted to see what a Revo'd TDi would do against a V6 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif

I might bring along my mate's Elise as well.

I was behind a 3.2 quattro the other day.It was a 55 plate 3 door in Avus or Akoya (hard to tell the difference at night) and had 'Stirling Audi' on the plates.

Japper, you will know where I was.I was travelling along the Lang Stracht from Kingswells towards town.

For those that don't know it,it's a 30 zone, with 5 sets of lights, seperated by no more than a few hundred yards or so.

I suspect the guy was using his DSG launch control, given the way he kept shooting away from each set of lights like a scalded cat.

It would have been impressive, were it not for the surroundings.

Instead of impressive,I'm afraid he looked like a right dickhead...

Time and a place sir,and rush hour traffic in a 30 zone surrounded by houses is not it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Sounds a bit like Moss Side, no-one dares stop at traffic lights.

It was quite fun timing the approach to traffic lights so you got there when it had been green for a few seconds, before that the cars were still coming from the other way at speed!

They must have the highest number of collisions at traffic lights anywhere outside Italy.

You should see Hillbrow in Johannesburg, Moss-Side is like a Centre-park in comparison.

Or equador! As soon as you leave the city the roads are just dirt tracks littered with armed bandits using all kinds of tricks to get you to stop. Having an automatic riffle pointed at most people is enough to get them to stop!
