Found out that (of all places) ALDI were getting some of this in last thursday, I went down there today and picked up a few bottles...

I've always quite liked Löwenbräu, it makes a nice change once in a while; but I didn't know what to expect from the Oktoberfest special beer. What a nice surprise!

It's a pretty strong little number, at 6.1% ABV and it's definitely got a rather definied taste to it, but it's quite palletable and once it's REALLY cold it tastes rather satisfying from a long glass.

    Has anyone else tried it?

    Regards,

    Rob.

NO its quite a nice beer actually.....but we could all be counted as drunks can't we....although thats my normal behaviour...lol.

I did see this on the net the other day, so might go and get a few bottles to see what they are like.

Aldi beers are normally pretty good to be fair though.

God this takes me back, used to drink Löwenbräu at the snooker club all Saturday afternoon before I met up with the crowd. Awesome stuff. Used to have a pale blue tap IIR *hic*

Am also a big fan of San Miguel and Peroni. Also Hoegarden? maybe spelt wrong but an aquired taste.

Yeah awesome stuff, unlike our beers the Germans arent allowed to put any additives or chemicals in their beer hence the crisp sharp taste and bad hangovers in the morning....
