now that the car is running, it's time to tidy up a few bits on the car

Cable tied the main battery cable through the car along the side rails

and tidying up the white bits in the shell

After taking out all the sound deadening, there are white bits in the shell...which is odd as some other stripped out leons of the same age have a fully sprayed shell[IMG]

    Before

    After

Bit patchy and needs another coat, but will do this later

    Carbon coil cover refitted

Gave the engine bay a 10 minute clean over

As I have removed the whole plastic gaitor off the handbrake I needed a new grip for the handbrake.

Ordered these, retro green BMX grips[IMG]

Going to fit these later. Stupidly for some reason I am excited about such a small thing

Thought I would show her some love today.

    Snow foamed drained

Then I clayed the whole car, polished, cleaned the glass and finished off sealing her with R222 Carnauba wax

not bad for a 12 year old car....

Probably one of the comfiest bucket seats ever, love it

Wires are a mess around the drivers console, making a custom mouting bracket and tucking the rest of the wires

New N75 valve arrived today. Hopefully this will sort the erratic boost issues out, sometimes it's 1.5bar and sometimes it's 0.8bar actuator pressure

Also got a vag com error showing intermittent connection from the N75 valve

Water meth now fitted thanks to Richard Ellis at Dyno Daze custom worx

    Mapping is now commencing.

Car felt good up on the way to the mapper, upset a Nissan 350z while doing...erm, naughty speeds

So the car is now finished, and I am seriously chuffed with the results [IMG]

it was 285bhp with 287lbft at 1.3 bar and with water meth 290bhp.

it was flowing 250bhp on less than one bar on actuator pressure alone...normally the CR Turbo units have to be worked hard to flow, but this is working seamlessly

The little K03 hybrid was reaching it's limit, not to mention the rods also, due to the spikey nature of a KKK turbo we are playing it safe. The turbo "could" flow over 300bhp, but then it's squeaky bum time for if the engine stays in one piece.

Power is now awesome, right across the rev range up to the redline, it's still holding 1.2bar.

Bare in mind we had to push the turbo at 1.5/1.6 bar to get 264bhp.....it wasn't flowing. Now since with the SFS supersize TIP, 3" downpipe, decat and water meth it has gained almost 30bhp. The mapper reported that the supersize TIP really helped to unleash the power.

    Here are the graphs:

    Figures:

    http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh67/jamiebennett81/479B93C6-C034-453F-811E-3B6139B1C322-8155-0000052D67F3EB6F_zps78059da4.jpg[/img

seriously seriously chuffed with the result as I wasn't expecting much more than 280bhp at the most.

Went to GTI International yesterday. Now bare in mind that I have not done a 1/4 mile for at least 8 years when I had my MK3 Ibiza Cupra.

The weather was red hot all day (burnt) and made for some challenges on the strip, but fortunately water meth was helping here

I started off running a 14s 1/4 mile, then got into the 13's, and my very last run of the day pulled a 13.4 with a terminal speed of 108mph

To say I am chuffed is an understatement, especially as I am running nankangs (from the previous owner still on the car) and with a 40 profile tyre.

I was 0.1s slower than the fastest Seat of the day, so just missed out on getting the fastest seat prize

Concentrating on tidying things up on the interior now, as I have not been happy with it for a while

There were bits of carpet like fluff stuck to a few body panels after taking out all the sound deadening which looked messy

    rear inside arch cleaned

    [img]http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh67/jamiebennett81/0200878D-CB2F-4472-B1DD-FB6DC505A39D-1044-000000DA482F13D9_zps8231cdae.jpg

There was a whole thick line of it stuck here also, all removed

I am prepping the floor and cleaning the last few bits of glue off, ready to spray it satin black

    Passenger side done

Here is the progressive DO controller

I went for the advanced setup with the power, pump warning light and float sensor.

definitely worth having as when driving I can keep an eye on what the kit in the boot is doing, making sure everything is running safe. Worked well already the other day with the float sensor telling me the meth was low, flashing in front of me and doing it's job. Worth every penny

    So....

just ordered some of these, plans to follow [IMG]

My spare engine mounts turned up today also. These are going to be home brewed, with the original rubber drilled out and then fully filled with a hard resin.

It's either I pay £240 for a set of race mounts from Awesome GTI, or like I am doing, I picked up a set of 2nd hand mounts for £20 and buying some resin for £30.....I'm going for the home brew version

Did a bit of work yesterday

    Rear bumper off, and cut...

Stupidly when putting the ports into the bumper, I didn't cut them short enough and they fouled along the crash, so they had to come out again, and re-cut which put me back an hour

Resprayed the rear crash bar, but I think I am just going to remove this, as its getting in the way of the drilled holes

    http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh67/jamiebennett81/90723A67-75E9-47D5-A12D-A41EC9067C3E-144-00000005348C7689_zpse5cc36ab.jpg/img]

    Few bits done today

    Cleaned it with this:

I haven't been impressed with Meguiars gold class for a while, so someone suggested to use this and I am really impressed with it. Cut through the dirt really well, and it smelt LUSH!

Snow foamed as always, final bit of draining:

Then gave the car a quick claying, and worked on a few stickers I have been meaning to get on

I think the neighbors must think I am mad, pitch dark with a decorating light, almost midnight working on the car ha ha!! Wheels sitting flush now. The whole stance of the car

is starting to look great now [IMG] [IMG]

So did a few bits on the car tonight.

Ever since losing the weight in the car, especially over the rear, the rear feels twitchy, which doesn't inspire me with confidence.

So looking at the ARB, its on the medium setting, so I have set this to its softest setting.

    drivers side bolt off

    set on its softest setting

Passenger side bolt off, this was quite a bit more difficult to get off, but the pro wrench made quick work of that

Bolts soaked in WD40 and copper greased, all re-tightened and done, didn't take too long in the end

Next is the interior wires, as it's driving me mad with them all lying about looking untidy. I also made a mount for the TCS anf fuel cap release button, but still haven't got round to mounting it yet, because the wires need sorting.

Wires spliced, and pulled apart, ready to be tucked, some remaining round the back and the TCS and fuel button to be pulled through the middle ready to be mounted

Then noticed this metal plate, holding in wiring from the old heavy leather seat which went a long time ago

    quickly unbolted and gone

next up is to actually put the wires around the back, then get round to doing the engine mounts and filling with solid resin....

    hopefully more updates on Sunday

Longer bolts and washers arrived today ready for the old Skool mod of raising the rear of the bonnet

Some say this will work to release heat, others say it will let air in and lift the car

Well this mod has only cost me about £3 so if it doesn't work then no big deal

    Few bits arrived today

On board camera for the leon to get some decent HD footage! it's tiny, but looks awesome. Will hopefully get a test video done on Sat evening!

and finally new nuts and bits to hold on the front half moon shape attachments which cover the toe bar holes, so the front end is a bit more tidier

Shipping out all the camber mounts at the moment, 14 arrived in red, and one came in black for some reason....I'm going to take the black ones as they look really smart

Started work on the engine mounts today, in preparation to be fitted next weekend along with the camber mounts.

These mounts are oil filled one side, which makes a right mess when cutting this out and draining the oil in it.

Next up is to get the mount done for the TCS and Fuel buttons

    measured up and drilled

    After some fiddly cutting

other hole cut and trial mounted

The plate is to be braced either side, sprayed black, then the edges rounded off with a rubber fitting

    Mounts filled

the one on the right leaked slightly, giving an uneven finish, but it can be cut into shape or just left as it doesn't really matter

Oil sides of the mounts filled and done

All the cables have also been tucked behind the center console, ready for the floor to be sprayed black

Next up is to start installing the oil pressure/temp and volt gauges.....

So a few upgrades and changes.

The HD camera I got was bloody awful, so that has been sent back and I am now looking at 2nd hand go pro's. Although I bought a cheap phone holder from halfords yesterday, made it stiffer with lots of cable ties, and its actually not that bad, so for £17 Vs £120, it will do for now

Went to Prawn HQ today to get the solid top mounts and solid engine mounts fitted

early start and arrived there for 09:00...

The OEM mounts on the Leon aren't damped at all, as you can see from the one on the right. The Audi TT ones are damped, but does not matter as these have had their oil emptied and filled with the hard resin

    Passenger side one fitted

Although a few issues when fitting this. The bolt for the Neuspeed ARB snapped clean off, clearly on its way out

Nick then tried drilling it out, but his drills were blunt. So I have the task of drilling it out then tapping it from an 8mm piece Nick has lent me

We then went to do the drivers side, and upon taking out the OEM top mount, the bearing literally fell apart, with ball bearings rolling about on the floor. By a stroke of luck, Nick had a OEM spare one, phew!

As for the test drive, the tracking needs sorting, but it feels great now. We found the passenger side engine mount slightly loose when changing it, so this is now all sorted.

There is a lot more engine vibration into the cabin and gearbox whine, but the car feels really really good now. It feels planted, turn in is great, and this is the first time in a long time it feels like it is handling as it should. Very very happy indeed.

Big thanks to Nick. Few things to sort now, like the tracking and ARB bolt, but nothing major.

Yes Luckily, in Nicks Aladdins cave AKA his garage, we had spares to get the job done.

    So a few bits

Thanks to a guy on one of the car groups, he got me the OEM bolts for the gearbox mount, so I can replace the crappy cut down bolts that have been bodged

Ordered the new bolts for the snapped ARB bolt. Just need to get a 9mm tap and 9mm drill piece

and these are on there way too. BBS RB 17" 8j wide, to be wrapped in semi slicks, ready for 1/4 mile and track days. Will be refurbished in a satin black. Need to find some centre caps for them....not seen many of these wheels about so that could be challenging. (got them for a bargain at £90)

Looks good mate. Nicks garage is definitely an Aladdins cave isn't it! Looks like a lot of time and effort's gone into the car, I bet it's a good laugh now.

With the camera, I didn't fancy the price-tag of go-pros so went with Sony's version (link). Very happy with it. Films 1080 at 30 and 60fps and 720 at 120fps. It's got the option of a 170deg lens angle, or cropped down to 120 but still at 1080, with the option for it to use the cropped area to automatically steady the shot. Waterproof down to 60m like a go-pro, plus it mounts on a standard 1/4" tripod thread. Picture quality seems really good, even in quite dark conditions, and it's handled sudden changes in light when mountain-biking in and out of woodland really well.

This video of Nick at Combe was taken on it, this is straight off the camera, you can see the steadying working from his bonnet moving around, the camera was solidly mounted to the screen (ignore the rattling noise, that seems to be the mount):
