KNOCK SENSOR

Audi a4 TDI (B6) 1.9 awx engine.
Any ideas where the knock sensor is located,and if its a fault that would show up on vag-com (sensor advances and ******* timing)

As far as I know, knock sensors are only fitted to petrol cars, not diesels.

the knock sensor is only fitted to petrol engined cars as spike mentioned, and its to detect premature ignition, in one of its many forms. This is not possible with a diesel as the fuel ignites the moment it is injected so it cannot pre-detonate.

Whats wrong with your engine that would make you want to locate the knock sensor, describe the problem and we'll try and help.

somebody on this forum said its the knock sensor,ive since found out cars sucking in air! Where andwhat do next?

Ive done this so far,new filter,new filter seals,new non return valve,new T-piece (fitted on top of fuel filter) all audi parts.
