My a4 b6 key has finally stopped working, think it was the spider battery connection that has packed in.

I have managed to get a key same frequency and model etc.

*** the transponder is in the blade part, is it a simple case of swapping the 2 button pats over so my blade is with the working new buttons?

Any hep appreciated

HI,

I believe the transponder chip is located where i have highlighted in my attached photo. Be careful as im told the transponders break very easily.

If its the same frequency, I do believe its a straight swap yes.

If not, you will certainly need an expert to code the key in. I would say try it and see how you get on.

Are you sure its not just a simple battery dead thing? Mine looks to be on its last legs too..

Cheers for the reply.

I tried just swapping the halves over but still as dead as before, so will have more of a look at it tonight.

im thinking the bit with the blade and the transponder are in one half, so simply disengaging this part and swapping it to a new battery part should work?

No problemo.

Yes the blade and transponder are in one half. If the battery is working, yes it should be a straight swap!

tried the swap but nothing. been through all sorts of re-syncing procedures but cannot get it to work.

so i have the blade and transponder from my key & the board and battery from another.

Sorry to hear that. At this point, I would speak to a specialist.

Subbed for that link! Just need a blank b6 blade for mine really.

Awesome link Matty.

When i bought my car it came with one key so a couple of years back, I bought a brand new b6 shell, got it cut, stickers on but just need to get all the inards. Im bascially half way there.

I used Ebay for the key to be honest. Was like £10 and its very nice.
