im looking at putting one on my a3 and was just wondering if i needed to upgrade anything? i have an aftermarket dumpvalve and also a air intake. i am also revo mapped
i understand it will run normally like my old one untill i get it remapped again to suit the variables of the k03s but should it be fine running one after the map or do i need to upgrade pullys etc?

i dont want it to go bang!!:redrs4:

I guess it'll be fine. Is the manifold etc the same, I thought it was?

Guess with map you should be around the 215-220 mark? Whats it running now, 180-190?

no i dont have a quattro! i want o go big without blowing the engine! also a k03s is a straight swap! my k03 has done 140 miles and has a bit of shaft play so thought it may be worth doing!

If your KO3 is toasted then yeah...go for a KO3S being as you're changing the turbo anyway.

yer that was the idea! mine still works so is no rush! its just a bit louder on spool up but no high pitch noise or police sciren noise yet! how easy is the turbo to change as i have had a look and its quite tough to get to? how many hours labour?

    I know. It's great :)

K03S is a straight swap. Everything is the same. Easy enough to do yourself with a few mates and some beer.

Use this guide - useful pictures and good guide in general (http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/265756.aspx)

No problemo. Well recommended and worth doing. Makes a great noise!!

Took me and a couple of mates about 4 hours to do. With no ramp or anything.

Get everything you need before change over, then all parts are handy. Good tool kit is a must!

    Service at the same time.

No idea boss, but it shouldn't be any more than the book time for a normal K03
