k03 leaking oil

Hi,

The K03 on my 1997 A4 1.8T sport has started leaking oil. Noticed it as a burning smell. Jacked up the car and I could see that the oil was seaping out of the turbo - hence the smell. It was coming from the join between the hot side and cold side of the turbo housing. There are 6 bolts that hold these two sections together and 3 underside ones were very loose! I tightened these but it hasn't fixed the leak. I'll take the turbo off at the weekend for a closer look. Just wondered if anyone has had the same problem?

So might be looking for a replacement K03, K03s or K04 - if anyone has one for sale!

Took the turbo off today - excessive play in the shaft. This has probably caused the seals to go. Ahh well it did last 123K miles - time for a new one me thinks!!
