Been told need to replace a lambda sensor and the cat.

Now followed the instructions in the link posted above (excellent find there Dave!), to test the cat and all the lambda/oxygen sensors. But when it comes to testing the cat (basic settings block 46) it just stays on test off. The question is how long does it take for the test to run or anything I need to do to initiate the test?
When checking the readiness this is the only part that hasn't passed so am beginning to think the cat is knackered but I get a reading of 0.13 which would suggest the cat is in good condition?

Anyone got any other ideas/suggestions £400 is a lot to spend on a part if its not knackered!
