I have a 59 S3 with 4,000 on the clock. The problem is that is is jumping out of 5th gear on a regular basis. It has always been difficult/sticky going into 5th since we got the car (we have had it since new). It appears to happen if you stay in 5th for any length of time. Just wondering if anyone has an idea of possible problem or known faults with the gearbox in the S3?
It is becoming a right pain in the neck; my wife now says she hates driving the car and doesn't want it anymore

I will have to phone the stealers but they are 90miles from home so not so easy.
