Paint *** pipes!!!

I'm going to make one of my bold statements that everybody says WTF?! at.
Demon Shine is by far and above the best cleaning product on the market, by miles. You can buy 2L of it for £2, it's available pretty much everywhere, it comes in a squirty bottle so you don't need to dispense it or faf about and it's great at everything.
As a challenge I cleaned the A3 today using nothing but Demon Shine. Plastics, cloth seats and cleaning the interior, EVERYTHING has been done with four microfibers, two buckets, one sponge and a 1L bottle of Demon Shine.

I even cleaned the engine bay with it!

demon shine gives great results, but only for about a day! i think its because of the silicon in it! it attracts muck!

I've been using it as a quick detailer, clay lube and general cleaner for over two years. And I think it's the ********.
I clean my car at least 4 times a week anyway, so I don't mind if it gets a bit dusty

Mine ran so much better when I used my version of the conventional set up for the DV.

Sooooo, on Wednesday night the clutch went on the A3
I was very very sad! I made a post on facebook saying the clutch was gone on the Audi and within 57 minutes of clutch related failings I had a barely used ABF flywheel, a VR6 friction plate and a VR6 pressure plate on its way to me from London. Courtesy of our very own Ranvir/Bobby/Customboy on the promise of a chilli and chips at the Ace. What a lovely bloke and a great friend!
So I had a clutch; but nowhere to fit it. Step in Phil Miller, who offered to take a day off work to fit the clutch round at his place for me. What a hero!
And for me that is what community and forums are all about; it's lovely that everybody pulls together in their time of need. What goes around comes around and all that jazz; and I'm very grateful to have these sorts of people around me. I can't thank you enough.
I ordered the bolts up from VW, 6x ABF flywheel bolts (P/N90206103) and 6x VR6 friction plate bolts (P/NN10101001). The bolts arrived today so I went and picked them up and got a new release bearing whilst I was there, they didn't have a release arm so I'll have to risk that not being cracked.
I was supposed to be going home to see my family and the COV boys next week, but what with all the **** that's going down with the car and me having a lot on my plate at work I am going to be fitting the clutch with Phil on Sunday morning I think.

[bumlove for Phil]First of all I think it is only fair that I give Phil Miller all of the credit he deserves...Holy **** does he know what he is doing! I previously have not trusted anybody to touch my car ever, so I was incredibly dubious of going to some randomer who I'd never met before who made a lubricious claim that he would do my clutch for me at the side of the road in a couple of hours. But I had no choice; and his credentials seemed good enough seeing as he works for an independent VAG specialist.
WOW am I impressed at his technical ability and knowledge; he tackled this clutch change as though it was a walk in the part. At no point did it seem any more daunting than changing a set of plugs! Totally professional and confident throughout; I am sure the two of us will keep each other busy with bits and pieces in the future. It's great to have met such a lovely bloke through the forum; ASN truly does being us all together

Together we knocked the whole thing out in about 4 hours and probably spent 3 hours of that actually working. There was a slight hitch though...
The old clutch wasn't actually THAT worn, but the flywheel had obviously got VERY hot and the friction plate was crazed and cracked. Which is what was causing my creaky clutch pedal and occasional slipping.

We got the clutch all up and together and it felt EPIC; I was over the moon. So we had another coffee break and took it out for a test drive and to show Phil my man boost. We got a mile or so down the road and the car felt a bit slow, but I presumed this was due to ECU relearning and being reset from the disconnected battery. This is when disaster struck. EML on, misfire and no boost...This made me very sad and tremendously worried despite seeming very calm.
IMMEDIATELY Phil said "Coilpack..." and we had a quick look under the bonnet; Phil suggested that when we got back the fault code would say intermittent misfire on cylinder 1. He was close! It was cylinder 4. So he gave me a coilpack off his own car, and we fitted mine to his and his misfired. So he sent me off with his coilpack on the promise I bought him a new one...What a legend!
Post hoc ergo propter hoc I had decided that it was something we had done. Turns out coincidence is a mother ****er! The coil pack had just decided to give up after us doing the clutch haha!
Man boost is now totally engaged and traction is pretty much limitless. Haldex...Pffft.
Clutch feels epic, much more response from the car now and I am free to smash through the gears with total confidence. Couldn't be happier!

So next on the list, I've ordered a new set of coil packs, Phil has offered me a strong as **** low mileage actuator and I just need to get WMI fitted then I'm ready for my 250bhp target

Thank you mate, it was a pleasure to meet you to dude, i must say the 8am start was perfect as this afternoon it was hammering down, all went very well, and i must say it makes a very good change to replace a part that makes a massive difference to the car, i cant believe how light the clutch pedal is.
Thats the best part of owning a VAG car, everyone is keen to help in anyway they can, that makes it even better.
Your car is a credit to you, very clean on the outside aswell as a very clean engine and bay
im still smiling from having driven it, like i said pulles like **** but has amazing road manners, im just glad i was able to help, i think i managed to keep dirty finger marks to a minimum on the body work, i enjoy fixing cars and take a lot of pride in it

It isn't a toyosport intercooler kit; it's the one that the toyosport/ebay kits are based on though. Prawn should feel a bit bad posting that link; seeing as he paid almost double that for it a couple of years back before the ebay ones popped up for £200 Gutted.
It came off Prawns car, before it was a track car and when it actually used to get driven. It's done well around 100K in 4 years, and a sub 9 minute of the ring.
The inlet pipes are 50mm and the cold side are 60mm. They're a great little kit to be fair; perfect for our application. People who want man boost will need meth anyway; which makes an argument against the need for a huge intercooler anyway.
