As soon as someone gets a bmw the first mod they do is to remove the indicator stalk and flog on it on ebay.

I have also noticed that the other offenders seem to be Jaguar drivers they seem to aspire to the bmw drivers point of view on indicating

Thing is though, all BMWs have L and R on the indicator stalk, to try and help them know which way to move it!
