    Nah rear window popped when he turning heating on & mixed with frozen glass, just shattered according to the article, but come on, who goes at there car with a bloody hammer & chisel, kinda stupid imho

    Why not just start the motor up and get the heaters going to thaw it out!?

    As you suggest, a high powered heated screen might cause some problems, but just warming the inside of the cabin with the normal cabin heater/blower would have melted the ice away before long.
