Issues post head gasket

    Hi

    I got a 2001 stock S3 - owned it from new and in 120k not a single engine component failed (xcept coil packs - all changed 20k ago) on it until a few weeks ago when it had to go in for a head gasket change -Rude awakening there!

    Anyway, since then the car aint right -Under hard acceleration, it hesitates around 5k rpm in 4th/ 5th and the amber engine light flashes for a bit until I back off. I'm getting these codes from VAG com...

    16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected P0300 - 35-10
    16685 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

    anyone got any ideas? After the big spend on the head job I gotta dig these out for myself...

    leaky pipes, suspect maf sensor,, coil packs failing.. plug gaos too big

    start with the search for leaky pipes tho. very commone and can cause mayhem in running issues

    Cheers bill - I reckon the pipes gotta be the problem since they all came off for the head gasket.
