    Hi.

Can someone please tell me if there is something missing that should plug into the blue connector?

I have never seen that one before, however it would appear to have never been used in your car as its taped nicely out of the way. At some point VAG used to use 2 pin temp senders, maybe an overspill form then??

i'll have a look at mine tomorrow, but only thing around there is the temp sender which i think you have plugged in.

other places to look are gearbox, also under the coolant bottle is the engine loom connectors that are colour coded, does it look like it might plug in there?

    Thanks Macca

I haven't found anything obvious but i got the car with the ignition module missing and then noticed that another part is missing. I should be getting the other part. Don't know what it is called LOL.

Because of the missing parts, this is why i am wondering what the connector is for.

    Cheers m8

The only place I have a blue plug similar to that is under the washer bottle.

sorry for not getting back sooner, been so so busy at moment,

anyway the only one i can find is the green and blue ones under the washer bottle, if i remember rightly they are linked to the knock sensors on the side of the engine block on the intake side.

check the blue one is connected ok.

I've got the same connector on my 1996 A4.. it's never been connected.
Most likely is from the older temp sender but not required anymore.

    Nothing to worry about though.

    Hi Alan

My A4 1.8T is also the same with no running problems with it not connected.
