Is my engine 140 or 170ps?

Probably a stupid question but how do I find out if the engine in my 2.0 TDI is 140 or 170ps?

I can't see anything in my car documentation...

the 170 should have a stainless steel tail pipe, where as the 140 wont

I dont think they did the 170 engine on an 05 plate so yours will be a 140.

Correct Matt, you can also confirm what engine you have got by looking at the vehicle ID data on the inside cover of your service booklet if it says 125KW that is the 170 engine if it says 103KW its the 140 there may also be the same sticker in the boot near spare tyre and or engine bay.Hope that helps.

No you can have the 170 engine in front wheel drive only or quattro.
