    Hi all,

Been looking into this for a while and haven't really found an answer yet ? And also been looking at standard gauges and in the photos i see standard and liquids in the same car making be believe that the liquid is not accurate?

    Any help would be great.

    Many thanks

Have you read the review I did in the stickies?

Liquid shows boost in 2 modes... first one reads from the MAP sensor (on engine codes that have them) and shows the same boost as the ECU will be seeing, the second is AGU mode where it calculates the boost base on a similar algorythem as the AGU ECU does to work out boost...

MAP sensor mode is limited to the MAP sensor 1.5bar max... so will only report 22psi max and no vacuum

AGU mode shows up to 30psi (iirc) and will show vacuum... not compared this on the dyno yet but will do if I think about it.. mine reads a bit differently to my boost gauge too

That said... without calibrating the boost gauge there is no real way to compare... all you can be sure off is in MAP mode you will see what the ECU sees and what it uses to regulate boost

No i didn't , where do i find this and il have a read?
Right ok i understand 95% of that as i am not totally clued up on all this yet but slowly learning. What is AGU mode ?
Im really interested in getting the liquid as i like the idea of being able to scan for faults and the other features included in this bit of kit .
Would you recommend buying one on you experience with one ?

    Many thanks

The stickies/FAQ link at the top of the 8L section...
    http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-...info-stickies-please-read-before-posting.html

I run a boost gauge and a Liquid gauge... personally I prefer the boost gauge for boost... its just better... I use the liquid in multi gauge most of the time but use it for EGTs or AFR mainly...

As for fault codes... you should be aware that Liquid will only scan the ECU... it won't scan other modules around the car... VCDS is a better bet...

If you have limited funds, buy a decent boost gauge and VCDS... if money isn't an issue then buy a decent boost gauge, VCDS and Liquid in that order
