20mm on the S3 gives a good stance but is still useable, worth it in my opinion but it all depends on what look you want personally.

im looking at doing this, as i have a young son (1yr) i dont want to compromise the ride a hell of alot, plus the expence of going lower can soon add up

correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt the s3 be lowered about 20mm standard anyway? so in theory you would have to fit -40mm springs to get an extra -20mm

    but i may be wrong.

I got the Eibach springs that lower it by 20mm in the front and 25mm in the back looks ok and I can still go over speed bumps and get into my drive which has a really steep incline!

looks aside, the extra spring rate will make the ride feel 'sportier'
