:mad:Has anyone here had any dealings with the INTERNET CAR SHOWROOM ?
they are based in hampshire just off the M3 , Audi Bmw specialists , a mate of mine bought a 56 Plate A6 2.0TDI manual with only 27000 miles , audi warranty etc from these guys and has had nothing but grief from it , problems with clutch judder / stalling / dual mass flywheel on its way out allready and has had major issues getting the problem resolved , audi have stated more than likely the car was abused by the first owner and wouldnt be covered under warranty as this would come under the category wear and tear , only when threats of court action were taken did the garage sit up and listen , they have agreed to look at the car but understandably my mate is suspicious that the problem will be resolved as to top it off the log book was not present with the car on purchase and neither was the service book , these were promised to be sent afterwards and looking at this place my mate had no reason to believe otherwise ,

    any thoughts ?

So you're saying no V5 with the car, that is a matter of law isnt it for the V5 to be present?

& if so it is inherently illegal to sell the car without, someone please check this as I'm sure its a requirement these days & if they have done this then they're in the **** with dvla & he has case to return car or can at least threaten them with serious trouble for that alone & dvla take it seriously I think, also how did the car get taxed without the V5 as since 03 it has been impossible without the V5.

I bought mine without the V5 present! I got mine from an Audi auction day. The reason the V5 wasn't present because it had been sent back to the DVLA as it had a private plate on it before. This could be the case with your friends!

As for the service history get him to ring Audi and give them the reg plate. They should be able to tell you when and where it has been done, however if it was on a private plate you will have to try and find that out or give them the chassis number.

If service book is missing - I would either wait for them to show it or walk away, otherwise it's just taking their word for 'full service history' etc.

Sounds very sus to me. If the car had been well looked after and maintained (which it obv hasn't) then all paperwork should be kept together in the Audi leather sleeve provided with the car. I guess your mate will have to keep his fingers crossed on the service history side of it as, as it stands, he's only on a 'promise' at the mo and won't have a leg to stand on unless it was a written promise. Was the car advertised as having a service history?

Talking of burgers, & sorry OT, but what happened to your new wheels as havnt seen the updates as yet, lol.

So V5 was there, audi can rightly say wear & tear as its a clutch & these are wear & tear, but get him to argue with audi & the garage he bought of as for such low mileage it shouldnt be that bad already, also be an idea to do a mileage check on the car to be sure hasnt been adapted.

When I was in italy with my trusty vagcom cable looking for car for mrs, went to a nice garage with nice cars & tested 3 cars which were very nice, 2 mk5's & 1 8P, nice specs but checked each mileages & they'd all been clocked, couldnt beleive it, unreal, not just 1 car but all 3 so obviously all being done on the site with about 50+ cars & most were VAG, really glad I had my Vagcom with me.

NHN - I thought when VAGCOM reads the mileage it was taken from the instrument cluster! because of what your saying.....is it from the ECU instead ?

No, there is an application in vagcom that can do a calculation of the mileage

    http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/EDC-15-Mileage.html

This actually takes it from the ecu, you can check some modules aswell for discrepancies which is what I also saw, so be very aware, I always would check actual ecu & ecu calculation can be of by a small % but usually when cars are clocked its usually for a **** load of miles not say 500, lol, so any slight ecu % out wont make any difference as its nearer to true mileage to maybe what the cluster will show if clocked, if that makes sense.

    Hi Rob
Yes i am just about to take them to the small claims court for selling me a bmw 120i back in Jan 09,after paying over £8,000 a steering fault appeared a week later, the rubbish warrenty they sold me couldn't do the repair in time for me to have my then partner drive to see me
in Southampton hospital following my heart surgury.I C S told me BMW GB should pay the repairs as the fault shouldn't happen to a car thats only done 30,000 miles,i had to pay for the repairs myself and now i have to claim it back from them under the legal 3 month warrenty they must provide. They have not once tried to resolve this matter or contact me even after solicitors letters. So of to court we go.Paul
