There is a knocking sound coming from the front right of the car, it doesn't always happen and when it does it's only at low speeds. Driving normally the car feels fine, but when it knocks you can feel it.

Any ideas what this is likely to be? it sounds like it should be fairly straight forward tbh

You really have to jack it up and have a look. There are a million balljoints that could be worn!

Well this is purely a workhorse, so my idea was to ignore it until it breaks. Sound like a fair plan? Or will this end in tears?

If its a balljoint, and it breaks, your wheel will be nicely flapping around in the arch, not really what you want happening at 80mph...

Get it jacked up and see whats worn.

Suppose I'll have to take a look at the weekend. From past experience tho knocking noises at low speeds/full lock haven't caused major issues. Just trying to out the work off I guess

get a pry bar to lever the joints about to find which joint is the loose one.

it's prob the track rod end or the cv joint

Anti roll bar bushes or links are likely suspects
