Tried a search but nothing to do with my issue popped up.

So whilst my car was in for a turbo I asked for a regas, he said sure and that hell do it for 40. Now come collection he said I won't charge you because when the car was up he noticed a pipe wasn't connected to the compressor and when he reconnected it there was a "clicking" noise and it didn't work so he thinks my compressors has gone.

Now on the way home from manchester today it came on freezing cold, then I turned it off n on and it was warm, then off and on again and was warm?

If a pipe had come off your compressor you would have lost its charge also if its working intermittently it could be chocking with moisture if garage did connect a pipe and recharge it without changing the drier or oil and evacuating the system properly.

Update on this, it seems aircon kicks itself into life of I put my toe down and it 90mph/3500rpm? What could cause this? Really annoying

Sounds like a dodgy clutch or loose belts if it only runs at high rpm's.

Why would you want aircon on on he track? I assume you was on the track at 90mph right?

Do you know how the aircon works? What car do you have, my aircon is actually climate control, and it does blow up n down depending on driving conditions and temps. Worth reading up on how it operated to be sure your doing it right.

When you switch of your a/c the suction pressure rises so if you have a leak on the low side of the system it would be more obvious when its off sounds like your evaporator however with your a/c running your discharge side pressure rises sometimes making a leak more obvious or sometimes leaks only show when the pipes contract .
