Ok im on the hunt for some bigger brakes, and owning a vectra vxr previous i noticed the calipers are similar.
but they are 345mm.

I wouldnt know how to find out if they could fit or not,but GM vxr calipers come up quite cheap from time to time.
im pretty sure the carriers should just swop over to the GM ones?

Cheaper than getting the s4 setup :)

Audi brakes
GM brakes

Just fit vw tourag . 330 or 360 mm . Picked up 2 sets recently off eBay.. £100 a pair of calipers. Need small bit of machine work to spot face the lugs to fit suspension.. And merc ml discs and rs4 brakes for £230...

yeah all good and well if you got a machine or know someone...if the carriers off the audi slot it to the GM vxrs then no work needed.

2mm spot faced off the bracket. Hardly rocket science and cheaper than carriers! U could do it with a hack saw and file .... Why try and make something untested fit when something tried and tested works... Just a thought ;-)

You never said how much, but good point. just thought id put it out there like the links you posted.

The caliper isnt the issue, they are pretty universal and will probably work fine. They might have different piston sizes but that wouldnt stop them working, just might make them not-ideal. The issue is the caliper carrier is vehicle specific in terms of offset, bolt spacing, and hub lug position in relation to the disk.

So yes, if you had some S4 caliper carriers, you could probably use one of those ATE calipers with it and it would all bolt up, but the carriers cost more new from the dealership than you'd pay for a whole S4 brake setup used, and no-ones going to sell you just the carriers off an S4.
